After a New Smartphone/Tablet RPG? Square Enix Release Guardian Codex

Claiming to offer “high-end 3D graphics”, “exciting multiplayer battle options”, support for up to four players and “a rich, single player story”; Square Enix have recently confirmed their release of Guardian Codex on iOS and Android platforms. Designed as a free-to-play multiplayer game, Guardian Codex is developed by the team who previously brought us the card battling game Guardian Cross.

Guardian Codex is set in a war-torn world split between two forces: the Empire and the Resistance. Players will take on the role of resistance agents, sent into the virtual “Codex” where they must find and capture legendary Guardians. Gathering guardians is a key means of surviving in the Codex however, as they are necessary to defeat the waves of enemies which lie in wait.

Square Enix held a pre-registration campaign prior to the game going live, which saw over 300,000 people express their interest. Perks were associated with any many people pre-registered, and everyone who downloads the game for a limited time will receive several goodies, including: a 4-Star Banshee Guardian, 6,000 Codex Credits and 5x Magic Stones (III). A special login promotion is also ongoing, which will provide additional Codex Credits each day you log in.

Guardian Codex can now be purchased via the iOS App Store and Android Google Play store.
