[E3 2016] Horizon Zero Dawn Showcased in New Gameplay Video

For more than a decade now, the attention of video game developer Guerrilla Games has been with their fairly successful Killzone first-person shooter franchise. Moving onto something different both in terms of genre and intellectual property, the development team are soon to finish work on the PlayStation 4 exclusive action-RPG Horizon Zero Dawn.

Earlier this month it was confirmed by Sony Interactive Entertainment that the action RPG would now be released on March 1st 2017. This date was chosen in order to ensure that “Horizon Zero Dawn lives up to the visuals and quality the studio is known for”. But while there is still a fair wait ahead of gamers before they can dive into this newest open world action RPG, Sony Interactive Entertainment did give the game a pedestal to shine on during their earlier PlayStation Press Conference for E3 2016.

Coming in at eight and a half minutes in length, viewers get to see a decent, continuous chunk of gameplay. It grants a look at some of the capabilities that protagonist Aloy has when it comes to world navigation, partaking in combat through a multitude of weaponry/tools and turning the odds in her favour when achieving objectives (Such as taming “overriding” a horse-like robot known as a Broadhead).

Some interesting concepts have clearly gone into this game. But with quite a few open world action/adventure games on the horizon, we will have to see if what’s on offer is enough to have it stand out from the crowd. However, fairly promising so far.
