Melbourne Ticket Sales for Waitress the Musical Commence This Week

Date:

Crossroads Live Australia has confirmed that ahead of the musical commencing its tour of Australia in 2026, tickets have gone on-sale for the Melbourne premiere season, which is set to open at Her Majesty’s Theatre from 1 May 2026. For those who weren’t on the official waitlist, and you can sign-up for it here, sales are set to open on Friday 12 December 2025 to the general public. Entry prices for the production start at $69.90, with bookings available through the official show website or other official channels.

Adapted from the film by Adrienne Shelly, Waitress is distinguished by its female-led creative team. The production features an original score by Grammy Award winner Sara Bareilles, a book by screenwriter Jessie Nelson, choreography by Lorin Latarro, and direction by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus. The musical originally opened on Broadway in April 2016, where it played until January 2020.

The narrative follows the story of Jenna, a waitress and expert pie maker situated in a small town. Seeking to leave a rocky marriage, she looks for a fresh start through a baking contest and an unexpected romance, while relying on the support of her fellow waitresses.

Producer John Frost, representing Crossroads Live, commented on the decision to bring the production to local stages and its international track record.

I’m thrilled to bring this original and inspiring production to Melbourne. WAITRESS became a massive hit on Broadway where it played for almost four years, and was a huge success in the West End and across the world. WAITRESS has become a ‘must see’ musical, with its memorable music by Sara Bareilles and universal themes of hope and resilience. Get your tickets now to enjoy this life-affirming and exciting show.

At the moment, Waitress the Musical is confirmed to be touring in Melbourne (at Her Majesty’s Theatre), before moving to the Sydney Lyric Theatre starting from 1 August 2026.
