While we have known for a while that the brains behind the music and lyrics of Beetlejuice the Musical, Eddie Perfect, shall be taking on lead role responsibilities during the production’s time in Australia, producers Michael Cassel Group, Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures and Langley Park Productions have confirmed the complete cast who will be joining him on-stage upon it commencing at the Melbourne Regent Theatre in May.
Joining Eddie Perfect on-stage as co-lead is Karis Oka as Lydia Deetz – who was also confirmed about a month ago. Joining them, Elise McCann (Groundhog Day, Matilda) will portray Barbara, with Rob Johnson (Calamity Jane, The Torrents) as Adam. Erin Clare (9 to 5, Tell Me on a Sunday) takes on the role of Delia, while Tom Wren (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Winners and Losers) will play Charles.

Additional cast members include Noni McCallum as Maxine/Juno, Rebecca Ordiz as the Girl Scout, and Angelique Cassimatis as Miss Argentina. Andy Conaghan will portray Otho, and Adam Lyon will take on the role of Maxie Dean. The sizable ensemble cast is set to feature Fiorella Bamba, Kelsi Boyden, Louis Fontaine, Kerrie Anne Greenland, Sara Haruta, James Haxby, Brady Kitchingham, Noah Missell, Daniel Raso, Callum Ryan, Taylor Scanlan, Rose Shannon-Duhigg, and William Tukia-Edwards.
Director Alex Timbers spoke about the casting, stating:
Australia has some of the finest musical theatre actors in the world, and this cast has the precise mix of wit, heart, and irreverent comedic gifts to bring Beetlejuice to life. We are so excited to begin performances soon and for Melbourne to experience these extraordinary performers in this wild and hilarious musical.
Meanwhile, Australian producer Michael Cassel shared his enthusiasm for the production, adding:
I knew from the moment I saw Beetlejuice and witnessed the drop-dead funny show that Alex, Eddie, and the entire creative team had made that Melbourne was going to go wild for this brilliant production. We are absolutely spellbound by the incredible cast that has been assembled, and we cannot wait for you to meet them.

Based on Tim Burton’s 1988 film, Beetlejuice the Musical follows Lydia Deetz, a teenager fascinated by the afterlife, as she encounters a ghostly couple and the mischievous Beetlejuice. When she enlists his help to scare away her parents, chaos ensues, leading to exorcisms, hauntings, and plenty of dark comedy.
Citing a high demand, Michael Cassel Group has confirmed that additional seats for the production will go on-sale starting 20 February 2025, extending the season to 3 August 2025 – with likely more tickets to be released in the future for Beetlejuice’s Australian premiere season. Ticketing information is available via the musical’s official Australian website. As of writing, Beetlejuice the Musical is only confirmed to be heading to Melbourne.
