Additional seats have been made available for the upcoming Brisbane season of the musical Sister Act, which is set to open in February 2025 at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC). The new seat releases cover one week, for performances commencing Wednesday 5 March 2025 — with booking information for the Brisbane season, the current Sydney season, and upcoming Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth productions available via the musical’s official website.
The new Australian production of Sister Act the Musical features Casey Donovan as Deloris Van Cartier, alongside Genevieve Lemon and Rhonda Burchmore. As you may have already guessed, the musical is based on the 1992 film Sister Act. The stage adaptation features original music by renown composer Alan Menken – who has contributed music to a range of films and stage musicals, including Beauty and the Beast, Little Shop of Horrors, Newsies, and Aladdin.
Sister Act the Musical follows Deloris, a disco singer whose life changes after witnessing a crime. To keep her safe, she is placed in witness protection in an unlikely location—a convent. There, Deloris revitalises the struggling choir and helps the nuns discover their own musical talents, while also embarking on her own personal journey of self-discovery.
