GWB Entertainment has announced that Erik Thomson, a well-known figure in Australian film, television, and theatre, will take on the role of Ebenezer Scrooge in A Christmas Carol. The production, which has become a recent annual festive staple in Melbourne, will run at the Melbourne Comedy Theatre from 22 November 2024.
Joining Thomson in the 2024 cast are Alison Whyte as the Ghost of Christmas Past, Tim Wright as Bob Cratchit, Tony Cogin as Marley and Father, Felix Star as Young Ebenezer, and Kaori Maeda-Judge as Jess.
Several cast members will be returning for this season, including Aisha Aidara as Little Fan, Kaya Byrne as Fred, Sarah Morrison as Belle, Stephanie Lambourn as Mrs. Cratchit, Samantha Morley as the Ghost of Christmas Present, Grant Piro as Fezziwig, Cameron Taylor as Nicholas Ferdy, Benjamin Colley as George, and Jack Van Staveren and Jasmine Vaughns as swings.
