Citing an “enormous demand” from Audiences across Queensland, Australian producer Crossroads Live Australia have rolled out ticket sales for four more weeks for their upcoming Brisbane season of Wicked, set to commence in the QPAC Lyric Theatre from 12 September 2024. The tickets, now on pre-sale until tomorrow (general public sales commencing 10 May), cover four weeks of performances leading up to 17 November 2024. With the Lyric Theatre to next feature The Lady of the Camellias performed by Shanghai Ballet from 5 December 2024, I’d expect this to be the final or the second last wave of tickets released for the musical before it leaves Brisbane.
Ticketing information for the Brisbane season, as well as the currently ongoing Melbourne season at the Regent Theatre, can be found on the musical’s official Australian website.
Long before Dorothy dropped in, two other young women meet in the land of Oz. One born with emerald-green skin is smart, fiery, misunderstood and possessing an extraordinary talent. The other is bubbly, blonde, ambitious and exceptionally popular. They become rivals, then friends…until the world decides to call one “good” and the other one “wicked.”
The 2024 cast of WICKED is headlined by Queenslander Courtney Monsma as Glinda and Sheridan Adams as Elphaba, the roles which will see them take on the iconic roles of Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West. They will be joined on-stage by a diverse lead cast including Robyn Nevin as Madame Morrible, Todd McKenney as Wizard, Liam Head as Fiyero, Adam Murphy as Dr Dillamond, Shewit Belay as Nessarose, Kurtis Papadinis as Boq, and Zoe Coppinger as the Elphaba Standby.
