New Tickets Go On Sale for CHICAGO’s Sydney Season

With the Sydney season of CHICAGO set to commence at the Capitol Theatre on 9 June 2024, following its soon-to-commence Melbourne season at His Majesty’s Theatre, you still have a few months to nab yourself tickets to this sizzling iconic musical. But if you are looking at nabbing yourself some of the best seats in the house later in the season, you may want to check out the show’s official website, with tickets for performances up to 21 July on pre-sale today for the Sydney season, with general public sales to commence on Friday.

This newest Australian production, produced by John Frost for Crossroads Live, features notable casting, including Anthony Warlow as Billy Flynn, Zoë Ventoura as Velma Kelly, Lucy Maunder as Roxie Hart, Peter Rowsthorn as Roxie’s husband Amos, and Asabi Goodman as Matron ‘Mama’ Morton.

Commenting on the release of new tickets, producer Johh Frost issued the following statement:

Audiences have been giving standing ovations every performance to our extraordinary cast, led by Anthony Warlow, Zoë Ventoura, Lucy Maunder, Peter Rowsthorn and Asabi Goodman alongside the hottest ensemble in town. CHICAGO has everything that people love about a Broadway musical – a story of fame, fortune and all that jazz, one show-stopping number after another and the most amazing dancing you’ve ever seen. Sydney, get in fast before the season sells out to enjoy the razzle dazzle of this New York institution.

CHICAGO commenced its 2023-2024 Australian tour in the final days of last year in Perth, before heading the Brisbane which concluded its run in early February 2024. It is set to commence at Her Majesty’s Theatre in Melbourne on 23 March 2024, Sydney’s Capitol Theatre from 9 June 2024, and finally Adelaide’s Festival Theatre from 4 August 2024.

Set amidst the decadence of the 1920s, CHICAGO is the story of Roxie Hart, a housewife and nightclub dancer who murders her on-the-side lover after he threatens to walk out on her. Desperate to avoid conviction, she dupes the public, the media and her rival cellmate, Velma Kelly, by hiring Chicago’s slickest criminal lawyer Billy Flynn to transform her malicious crime into a barrage of sensational headlines, the likes of which might just as easily be ripped from today’s tabloids.
