Following success internationally and two previous Australian seasons in Melbourne and Sydney, Michael Cassel Group is set to bring & Juliet to the Sydney Lyric Theatre stage in two weeks time – asking the question, “What if Romeo’s ending, was Juliet’s beginning?” to a whole new audience, complemented by a blend of pop anthems and narrative innovation. Starring Lorinda May Merrypor in the titular role, the Australian production boasts an impressive ensemble, including Rob Mills as Shakespeare, Amy Lehpamer as Anne, Casey Donovan as Angelique, Hayden Tee as Lance and Blake Appelqvist as Romeo – among other members of a comprehensive principal and ensemble cast.
& JULIET reimagines the iconic story of Romeo and Juliet, proposing an alternative narrative where it hadn’t all ended with Romeo, and where Juliet opts for a life of self-discovery and empowerment rather than tragedy. The musical features a range of pop anthems as iconic as her name, with the playlist including tracks such as Baby One More Time, Roar, Since You’ve Been Gone, Larger Than Life, That’s The Way It Is, Can’t Stop The Feeling, and more.

Commenting on the impending Sydney season, some of the cast chimed in with their excitement:
It is such a joy to share the story of & JULIET with even more people in Sydney. We cannot wait to be back on the stage, singing and dancing with everyone each night!
Lorinda May Merrypor
I cannot wait to introduce & JULIET to Sydney. The show is one big celebration of love and joy and if Melbourne, Singapore and Perth are anything to go by, Sydney audiences better get ready to party!
Rob Mills
I can’t wait to be back in my hometown and share the story, music, hope and joy that is & JULIET the musical. Sydney audiences are going to absolutely fall in love with this show.
Casey Donovan
The Sydney season is set to enjoy an extended run at the Sydney Lyric Theatre, commencing 27 February 2024 and running until 2 June 2024. Ticketing information for & Juliet can be found via the show’s official Australian website, with Ticketmaster serving as the season’s official seller of tickets.
The other big question though… will Michael Cassel Group conclude & Juliet’s Australian tour with Sydney, or will seasons in Queensland or other Australian states be on the table? Time will tell.
