Your summer days and summer night could be enjoyed this year watching Grease the Musical in Brisbane, with producer John Frost for Crossroads Live Australia announcing that Grease the Musical will be heading to Brisbane for a limited season starting December 2024. Given the wording on different sources, it appears to be entering previews by the end of December, and officially having its opening in January. Furthermore, the venue is confirmed as QPAC, but the stage is not certain at this point in time – although likely to be the Lyric Theatre given the confirmed productions in other venues across the months.
The 2024-2025 Australian production is currently being performed in Melbourne, and is destined to head to the Sydney Capitol Theatre from 24 March 2024, followed by the Perth Crown Theatre in June 2024. There is currently no word on where the production will travel between these dates. However, they have confirmed that a “casting announcement will be made in the coming months”, meaning that this could feature an entirely different cast to other legs of the tour and be a “take two” so to speak. But, time will tell.
This iconic 1970s musical, which served as the source material for the beloved romantic comedy film “Grease,” will come to life once again on stage. This production is bringing the timeless story of Rydell High and its T-Birds and Pink Ladies to audiences across Australia, with the musical backing of iconic songs from Summer Nights to You’re the One That I Want to Greased Lightnin’.
Expect to hear more about this summer Brisbane production of Grease in the coming months.
