Featuring a range of Australian talent including Debora Krizak, James Shaw, Daniel R Nixon, Ben Trigger, Kate Peters, Elliot Baker and an extensive line-up of Queensland youth in the roles of the titular character, Michael and other child roles – Gold Coast is set to enjoy a six week season of Billy Elliot the Musical at The Star Gold Coast’s Theatre. Following weeks of rehearsals and bump-in at the venue, the company is set to hold their first preview performance at 7.30pm tonight, leading into the show’s official opening night on Saturday evening.
This is the latest major multi-week production from Matt Ward Entertainment, whose previous Gold Coast centric productions have included Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, Priscilla: Queen of the Desert and Mamma Mia! The Musical. Tickets to see Billy Elliot the Musical are currently on-sale, with booking information available via the show’s website. Tickets are available from $75.00, with higher ticket prices for a performance typically indicating better seating reserve.
We were in attendance at the show’s media call earlier today, and in the coming week you can look forward to not only a review of this production, but interviews with Matt Ward and Ben Trigger.
