Lin-Manuel Miranda to Feature at Special Hamilton Q&A

You may have been in the room where it happened, but what about finding out how it happened?

Following an announcement last week confirming that Lin-Manuel Miranda would be soon flying into Brisbane to see a performance of Hamilton the Musical for the first time, Michael Cassel Group has provided further information about the limited-capacity Q&A they would be hosting with the show’s creator.

This special Q&A will take place at the QPAC Lyric Theatre on 5 March 2023 at 10.00am, and will see Lin-Manual Miranda join ABC journalist Leigh Sales on stage, who serves as host, and Jason Arrow, who plays the role of Hamilton in Australia. Some questions they have hinted at being asked/answered include:

What are the music theatre easter eggs in HAMILTON?

When reading Ron Chernow’s epic biography about Alexander Hamilton, what was the lightbulb moment that took it to the stage?

How did the lyrics to My ShotHelpless and One Last Time manifest?

A limited number of tickets will be made available for this Q&A event, which will be free of charge, however won’t just be first-in best-dressed. To potentially be one of the lucky ones given a ticket, you must go to the QPAC website and fill out the form. You can opt to receive one or two tickets, and also have the chance to pitch a question to be asked.

A look at the data required to apply

Applications will be open until 10am AEST on Wednesday 22 February 2023, with those fortunate to receive tickets and unfortunate enough to miss out on the opportunity to be notified by COB Thursday 23 February 2023. But if you miss out, it appears they will do a redraw of any tickets not claimed / not able to be used, so don’t give up hope just yet.

The Brisbane season at QPAC’s Lyric Theatre, which opened on January 31, marks the final season for the show in Australia before it begins its international tour in Auckland from May 26. For those still after some good seats, a final wave of ticket sales recently went live for performances through to 23 April 2023. This is the final wave of seats being released, with no extensions possible.
