Arguably one of the world’s most popular fictional detectives is making his way to the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) from next month, with Woodward Productions to have its theatrical debut of The Mystery of the Valkyrie on the QPAC Playhouse Stage starting 29 March 2022.
While it has been known for many months now that Hugh Parker will be portraying Sherlock Holmes, the producers today confirmed whom will be playing the roles of Irene Adler, Professor Moriarty, Dr John Watson and the show’s ensemble cast. The cast includes:

Inspired by the stories of Arthur Conan Doyle, this new Australian work comes to life on stage with veteran performer Hugh Parker as Sherlock Holmes, one of the most legendary characters of literature and screen. Holmes will be in the familiar surrounds of 221B Baker Street, with iconic characters including Watson, Adler and Moriarty all having a role in the tale going ahead.
Produced by Woodward Productions, The Mystery of the Valkyrie features Michael Futcher as Writer & Director, with video designs by Craig Wilkinson, lighting designs by David Walters, stage management by Margaret Burrows, Janis Balodis as Dramaturg, Isabel Hudson as designer and Phil Slade as Composer/Sound Designer. The producer has been behind a number of other productions in recent years, including Weathering Well, Caroline O’Connor: From Broadway with Love and A Very Naughty Christmas.

About The Mystery of the Valkyrie
1890’s London – renowned detective Sherlock Holmes, assisted by his trusted friend, Dr Watson, are thrown into a world that is not as it seems as they investigate the grisly murder of a scientist at Birlstone Manor.
What begins as a routine case for the famous sleuth, transforms into a dark web of intrigue, ultimately leading Holmes’ to an encounter with his greatest nemesis, – the infamous Professor Moriarty – a battle he must win.
