An American in Paris the Musical Headed to Australia in 2022

Inspired by the Academy Award winning film and having already enjoyed success on New York’s Broadway, in one of the first brand new major Australian musical tours announced since COVID-19 hit, GWB Entertainment and The Australian Ballet has confirmed they are bringing An American in Paris the Musical to Australia in 2022.

An American in Paris The Musical will begin its tour in the Queensland Performing Arts Centre’s (QPAC) Lyric Theatre from 8 to 30 January 2022, for which general public seat sales will commence 20 October 2021. The season will then travel to Adelaide (Her Majesty’s Theatre), Perth (Crown Theatre), Melbourne (State Theatre, Arts Centre Melbourne) and then concluding (as of writing) at Sydney’s Theatre Royal.

An American in Paris the Musical’s Australian tour will see David Hallberg serve as artistic director. The cast will be announced at a later date. For more information, check out the show’s official website.

Inspired by the Academy Award-winning film, acclaimed director and choreographer Christopher Wheeldon brings the enchantment and magic of Paris to buoyant life with popular songs by George and Ira Gershwin, including I Got Rhythm, S Wonderful, But Not For Me and They Can’t Take That Away From Me.
