Hideo Kojima: Connecting Worlds Documentary Now Available on Streaming Platforms

Kojima Productions has confirmed that their new documentary titled Hideo Kojima: Connecting Worlds, which sets out to follow their founders “journey to create the game which changed the face of interactive storytelling and explore the inspiration and artistry of one of gaming’s true auteurs”, is now available on streaming platforms.

What platform the documentary is on depends on where you reside. In most cases, it will be available on Disney+, with supported regions including Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Singapore, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Balkans EU (Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovenia), Non-EU (Albania, Bosnia/Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, Macedonia, Serbia), UK, Ireland, Gibraltar. The exceptions are the United States where it is available via Hulu, and Hotstar in both South Africa and the Philippines.

Directed by Glen Milner and produced by Ben Hilton for Filmworks London, Hide Kojima: Connecting Worlds aims to be give insight into Hideo Kojima’s creative process in his post-Konami todays, where he launches his own titular gaming studio and creates Death Stranding. The documentary will feature contributions from the likes of George Miller, Guillermo del Toro, Nicholas Winding Refn, Grimes, Norman Reedus, Woodkid, Chvrches among other- and seeks to explore “the power and potential of video games as an art form through the work of an influential talent revered by millions worldwide”.

Commenting on this release, Glen Milner, Director at Filmworks shared:

Our film is a celebration of Death Stranding and video games as an art-form. We really wanted to capture Kojima-san’s thought process and philosophy behind the game as much as anything. How cultural influences and life experiences play a key role in the themes of his work and his creative outlook, not only for Death Stranding, but also for his own studio.
