While The Super Mario Bros. Movie’s soundtrack is now available digitally from Back Lot Music today, iam8bit has announced they will be working with Nintendo, Illumination, and Universal Pictures to bring the film’s soundtrack to fans via a number of physical releases.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie soundtrack is now available for pre-order in three distinct formats, from traditional CD and vinyl record releases, to an attempt at harkening back to the 1980s with a cassette tape version. The iam8bit release of the Super Mario Bros. Movie soundtrack includes all 36 tracks from the film, which was a collaboration between Nintendo composer Koji Kondo and renowned film composer Brian Tyler, whose previous works have included music for the Fast & Furious series, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Crazy Rich Asians.
The vinyl album ($41.99) is pressed on red and green records, with an exclusive pink and yellow colorway available only on iam8bit.com. The CD ($19.99) contains the complete movie soundtrack on two discs in a premium four-panel package. Retro enthusiasts can enjoy the cassette edition ($19.99) with a randomly distributed red or green colorway. Additionally, fans can pre-order a special 7″ single ($12.99) featuring Bowser’s “Peaches” piano ballad and the classic “Mario Brothers Rap.”
All versions of the physical The Super Mario Bros. Movie soundtrack albums and 7” single are expected to ship in Q3 2023.
