Final Hours Remain in Skeb’s Fee-Free Commission Period

Since the beginning of last month, the commission requesting service Skeb has generously waived all artist fees on their service. While this means no change for clients, for the artists and other creatives on the service, it meant that they would receive the full cut of money earned from requests they take via the service. Therefore, theoretically, they would be more interested in accepting proposals for a slightly lower fee or be keener on opening/accepting commissions in general. This has clearly been beneficial for the service, increasing their userbase of clients and talent and generating more interest in their new services rolled out in recent months.

That is all set to come to an end in a few hours however, with the free request period set to end tonight at 23:59pm JST. Therefore, if there is an artist on the service you really really really want to pitch a request to, may be worth doing it now rather than later. This is because it is expected that some artists will cease taking requests (at least temporarily) at this time.

From 1 August onwards, there are some changes coming in for artists. The regular request fee will be decreased from 13.6% to 9.8% (excl. boost and transfer fees), while the campaign to reduce the request fee to 6.8% by the artist posting their Skeb URL on their Twitter account will also be resumed.
