After airing in Japan in September 2020, and based on the original 2018 coming-of-age TV animation Violet Evergarden, Australian anime publisher Madman Entertainment has today commenced cinema screenings of Violet Evergarden: The Movie across Australia and New Zealand. This is the first animated feature to be developed by the highly-acclaimed animation studio Kyoto Animation since the tragic arson attack which befell their main studio in July 2019.
Like many of Madman Entertainment’s cinematic screenings, only select cinemas in each state will be showing Violet Evergarden: The Movie. A full list of locations can be found by clicking HERE or by scrolling down. Regardless of venue, the film will only screen with the original Japanese audio w/ English subtitles. Due to the lowering of COVID-19 restrictions in the state, Victoria is also beginning to have session dates/times made available.

About Violet Evergarden: The Movie
After working as an Auto Memory Doll, Violet Evergarden has come to learn the meaning of the words “I love you.” Her soul, which has been deeply scarred by the war, has begun to heal. She continues to move forward in life, helping others in need, while keeping the words of the first person who ever said “I love you” to her close to her heart. When she takes on a job to write a letter for a terminally-ill boy, time starts to move forward.
