Although they are currently unable to refine the game’s launch window to anything less than “2015” at this time, SEGA have today made another step towards their English release of Yakuza 5 on the PlayStation 3.
The company have today announced that the open-world action adventure can now be pre-ordered digitally on the PlayStation Store in the Americas. Those who pre-order will be eligible for a 15% discount off the launch price ($39.99 down to $33.99), and will also nab themselves the “Fulfiller of Dreams” static theme pictured above.
Originally released in Japan during 2012, Yakuza 5 follows the approach taken by both Yakuza 4 and Yakuza: of the End by splitting the story up into different arcs following different characters. This time around the emphasis is on five characters – Kazuma Kiryu, Shun Akiyama, Taiga Saejima, Tatsuo Shinada and (making her playable debut since appearing in every Yakuza game) Haruka Sawamura.
Yakuza 5 introduces “Another Drama” side-stories, which provide an opportunity to look into the lives of each protagonist away from the main storyline. Also on offer are more mini-games than previous instalments, changes to the battle system and additional options in the hostess bars.
