Cirque du Soleil Australia have announced that a brand new week of performances will be available for their show TOTEM, with eight shows being added from May 19 to May 24. This will be the definitive final week of shows, with no further extension possible. Tickets will be available via the event’s official website from tomorrow (March 26).
TOTEM is set to launch in Brisbane on April 10th 2015, under their signature blue and yellow big top at Northshore Hamilton, Macarthur Avenue, Brisbane. This will be the first time that TOTEM has been performed in the city since debuting in 2010, where more than three million people across 29 cities worldwide have seen it.
Written and directed by multidisciplinary artist Robert Lepage, TOTEM traces the fascinating journey of the human species from its original amphibian state to its ultimate desire to fly. The characters evolve on a stage evoking a giant turtle, the symbol of origin for many ancient civilizations. Inspired by many founding myths, TOTEM illustrates, through a visual and acrobatic language, the evolutionary progress of species.
