Following their 2012 release of Theatrhythm Final Fantasy, Square Enix has today announced plans to release its sequel Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call internationally for the Nintendo 3DS. Set to hit store shelves later in 2014, this rhythm game will feature the same chibified Final Fantasy characters alongside a bolstered track listing of more than 200 songs from many games in the franchise. Some of the new titles featured in this edition include Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, Final Fantasy Tactics and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII.
The publisher hopes that someone picking up this title will be able to relive nostalgic moments from the long-running franchise. “Music is an integral part of FINAL FANTASY” shares producer Ichiro Hazama. “As with the previous title, we wanted to shine the spotlight on that music for fans to re-experience their favorite moments from across the entire FINAL FANTASY catalogue”.
Promoted features of this title include:
- Versus Battle Mode – Players can now compete head-to-head with friends and other users.
- Quest Medley Mode – Songs from the vast Final Fantasy music catalogue make up unique quests; players can choose their own routes through short, medium and long quests. Players can also share these quests with friends.
- New Characters – The game features over 60 new and old characters, including Barret (VII) and Yuna (X-2). Characters from spin-offs, like Benjamin (Mystic Quest), Ramza (Tactics) and Zack (Crisis Core), also make their debut in this game.
- Collecta Crystarium – Clearing songs and winning battles allow players to obtain Collecta Cards that boost their character stats.
