ReBlade: The Death Spiral blends cyberpunk with Chinese mythology, and players can now try it for themselves. A free demo for the action game is available on Steam for the first time, and will stay available beyond Steam Next Fest until 10 November.
Developed by ChillyRoom and published on Steam by Spiral Up Games, ReBlade is set in a dystopian future populated by ancient creatures that have been warped by machinery. Players are trapped in an endless cycle of death and rebirth, and must fight through a futuristic city while uncovering the truth behind the cycle and searching for a way to break free.
The journey begins in the dark underground before moving out into a sprawling, neon-lit city. Players control a condemned synthetic heroine, with a range of outfits to unlock along the way.
Combat centres on mechanical beasts inspired by Chinese mythology. Learning their attack patterns, timing parries and breaking their guard opens up the chance to land powerful strikes. Weapons, skills, chips and augments can be combined into different builds, with new ways to fight to discover on each run.
