Wonderia players can now design their own worlds. Developer Rock&Dash and publisher IndieArk have released a major update for the open-world survival and crafting game that introduces Creative Mode, letting players build scenarios, change the rules of the world and test their own gameplay ideas in both single-player and multiplayer. The game is also 20% off until 2 November.
Creative Mode begins in a starting area where players can build environments from scratch. That might mean building a settlement with friends, setting up a combat arena or arranging mechanisms and automated facilities. Terrain, buildings, furniture and facilities can all be customised, and once a creation is finished, other players can be invited in to explore it.
A set of new Creative Tools is designed to make building faster. The Item Catalog lets players browse by category or search for buildings, furniture, materials, equipment and other items. Bulk Place and Bulk Clear make it easier to work across large areas, and Blueprints, along with the Blueprint Library, let players save finished buildings and layouts to reuse in other Creative worlds.
Two further tools help with testing. God Mode lets players pass through obstacles, avoid damage and stop using Food or Spirit. Pause World freezes world time, enemies and automated facilities while still allowing players to move around and build, before resuming everything to see the results.
Outside of Creative Mode, the update adds new furniture for decorating homes and custom builds. Stylist Carvel’s salon now offers a Makeover Pod service, which lets players change their character’s body type, skin tone, eye style and colour, and eyebrow style, without starting a new adventure. Save limits have also been raised, from 10 to 20 for characters and from 10 to 30 for worlds.
Wonderia is set on a strange alien world with a manga and sci-fi look and procedurally generated landscapes. Players can explore its unusual lifeforms, get to know quirky NPCs, search alien ruins for special gear and take on challenges in temples while building a new life. The sandbox allows players to reshape terrain, build, move ruins and decorate their base, while survival mechanics aim to be challenging without being punishing. Farming, combat and transformation all offer different ways to play.
