Yuuya’s double life across two worlds continues next year. Kadokawa has confirmed that the second season of the TV anime I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World and Became Unrivaled in The Real World, Too, also known by the much simpler title of Iseleve, will begin broadcasting and streaming in January 2027. The announcement came with the season’s first key visual and promotional video, a story summary and two new cast members. The series is based on the light novel published by Fantasia Bunko (KADOKAWA), which has now sold more than 4.5 million copies.
The second season picks up after Yuuya has taken in Ouma, the legendary Genesis Dragon, and Kuro, the incarnation of “the Vile” that was lurking within Yuti, and has defeated the Divine Fist. While he trains to master his newly gained power of “the Vile”, its forces are quietly growing stronger behind the scenes. Meanwhile, in the Kingdom of Regahl in Another World, an Imperial Tournament is being prepared, pitting Yuuya against the strongest of all the Divines, the “Divine Sword”.
That title belongs to Iris Knowblade, one of two new characters joining the cast. Iris is the strongest of all sword princesses, but her dedication to mastering the sword has cost her the chance to marry. Searching for a man whose fate is stronger than her own, she falls for Yuuya at first sight during the tournament. She is voiced by Ikumi Hasegawa.
Iris takes centre stage in the new key visual. Only her back was shown in the teaser visual released at Anime Japan 2026 in March, and the new artwork places her alongside the heroines from both Another World and The Real World who admire Yuuya, setting the tone for the start of the new story.
Ikumi Hasegawa shared her excitement about joining the series and teased how Iris’ story will unfold:

The second newcomer is Mai Kagurazaka, played by Sora Amamiya. Like Yuuya and Kaori, Mai comes from The Real World. Because she serves as a shrine maiden, she is summoned to Another World as a “Divine Maiden”, and she holds a special power that allows her to exorcise “the Vile”.
Sora Amamiya described the different sides of Mai’s personality that viewers can expect to see:

She’s a mysterious character; despite her aloof demeanour, she’s very caring and surprisingly gets embarrassed easily, giving you a glimpse into her naïve personality, so please look forward to Mai’s involvement in the story!
