Aksys Games Unveils New Lineup at Anime Expo 2026

Aksys Games used its panel at Anime Expo 2026 in Los Angeles to detail a slate of upcoming releases spanning several genres and platforms, ranging from role-playing adventures to visual novels and puzzle games.

Among the newly announced titles is Another Eden Begins, a time-travelling RPG created by Masato Kato. The game takes players through multiple eras spanning past, present and future, and includes a fully voiced main story alongside music composed by Yasunori Mitsuda and Procyon Studios. Once the main story is complete, players can carry powered-up characters into a New Game+ mode, which offers more than ten possible endings depending on the choices made throughout the game. A physical version will be released in 2027 for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.

Also revealed was Bounty Sisters, a vertically scrolling shoot ’em up centred on three bounty-hunting sisters facing off against a group of villains in what is described as a slapstick-style adventure. The title is scheduled for release in both physical and digital formats on Nintendo Switch in Fall 2026.

Cthulhu Mythos Adventures, a two-in-one collection, was announced as well. The package combines a 2D visual novel with a tabletop role-playing-inspired experience in which dice rolls influence the outcome of events. Within the collection, players attempt to escape an abandoned hospital in Lunatic Whispers and work to break a curse placed on them by a mysterious entity in The Isle of Ubohoth. The collection is set for release on Nintendo Switch, with additional platforms still to be confirmed, in both physical and digital formats during Holiday 2026.

Another announcement was for Illusion of Itehari -trail-, a sequel to Illusion of Itehari and part of the otome genre. Set within a walled, isolated garden city, the story continues after the True Ending of the original game, following an After Story alongside a collection of short stories. The sequel features both returning and new characters rendered using Live2D. It is scheduled for release on Nintendo Switch in physical and digital formats in Spring 2027.

Another otome title, Olympia Soirée -Catharsis-, was confirmed as a sequel to Olympia Soirée. Set two and a half years after an event referred to as the rainbow rainfall, the story follows a shift on Tennyo Island as a younger generation, led by a character named Akaza, begins to bring change. The plot centres on Olympia, whose long-anticipated wedding coincides with the arrival of an outsider bearing the same hair colour as the “White” bloodline, prompting questions about his origins and what his presence means for the island. The game will be released for Nintendo Switch in physical and digital formats in Spring 2027.

Rounding out the newly revealed titles is UNDERGROUNDED, a puzzle adventure game set in landscapes inspired by America’s past. The story follows a young man searching for his ring through an underground maze beneath the streets of Manhattan, using an ability tied to retro games. A physical version is planned for Nintendo Switch in Fall 2026.

Beyond the new reveals, the panel also provided updates on titles previously announced for release later in 2026. OVER REQUIEMZ, an otome title, is set for release on Nintendo Switch in physical and digital formats on 20 August 2026. The story follows high school student Yuhiru, who is transported to the kingdom of Oz after being caught in a tornado. Sentenced to death upon her arrival, she is ordered to investigate a set of mysterious ruins alongside four convicts on death row and their supervisor, with her fate depending on the decisions she makes throughout the journey.

Also confirmed was the release date for Tristia: Chronicles, a bundle combining two invention shop simulation games from Kogado Studio, Tristia: Legacy and Tristia: Restore. The collection follows inventor Nanoca Flanka as she works to restore the marine city of Tristia. The bundle is scheduled for release on Nintendo Switch in physical and digital formats on 17 September 2026.
