Japanese developer KINGOFSHIBUYA Ltd. has set a release date for Baito Fight!!: Part-time Devil Hunter, a baseball-themed devil-hunting life sim. The game launches on PC via Steam on 11 August 2026, priced at $8.99 USD or regional equivalent. Players will soon be able to fill the shoes of Anansi, a former baseball player looking for a quieter life who has moved into a new apartment in the centre of Osaka’s Naniwa Ward. That quiet proves short-lived, as Anansi finds his retirement disrupted by devils intent on making his daily life difficult.
Combat draws on Anansi’s baseball background within a traditional turn-based JRPG framework, using pitches, strikes and critical centre strikes to fend off the devils infesting his apartment. The game also features a real-time defensive batting mechanic, in which successful strikeouts deal large amounts of damage while swinging and missing reduces Anansi’s HP. This is all wrapped in a presentation utilising a lo-fi pixel art style which are influenced by games such as Earthbound and Undertale.
New powers and abilities are obtained by purchasing them at local Japanese convenience stores, or konbinis, as a way of pushing back against the spread of devils through the apartment. The game pairs this with everyday responsibilities such as rent, with battles against devils serving as a means of keeping up with overdue payments and avoiding homelessness, so that Anansi has somewhere to sleep after his days of devil hunting.
The game’s world is designed to keep advancing, taking in Anansi’s neighbours, side quests and the main plot. Players can get to know a range of neighbours and become involved in their stories, with each in-game day bringing new developments that build towards the central question of what is behind the devil infestation and whether Anansi can turn it back for good.
Creative Director Seven Perteet of KINGOFSHIBUYA Ltd. likened the game’s intended play pattern to Animal Crossing, framing it as a title to spend a short time with each day, with its content shifting between sessions.
Like Animal Crossing, Baito Fight is a game designed to be played for a few minutes every day in between doing other activities and playing other games. Every day you play, the in-game story, side quests, and battle content will change.
