Video game developer and publisher Natsume has announced the official release date for the next instalment in its farming simulation franchise, Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea. The upcoming title is scheduled to launch on 24 September 2026 across a variety of platforms, including the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
Alongside the release date announcement, pre-orders have gone live on the official Natsume Store as well as Amazon. Customers who secure their copy early will receive a physical pre-order bonus featuring Lupo, a baby wolf plush representing the Bloomfield Guardian, while supplies last.
Natsume also distributed a new batch of screenshots to provide a first look at the game’s new characters, an urban city environment, camping mechanics, and weather phenomena such as tornadoes. All of these are available to view above.
In Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea, the narrative begins in the quiet location of Bloomfield Village. The core plot follows the protagonist as a mysterious mist begins to spread from the Forest of Echoes, accompanied by nocturnal wild beasts and sudden environmental disasters. Throughout the journey to uncover the source of these earthquakes and storms, players will collaborate with series staples like the Harvest Goddess and the inventor Doc Jr., alongside newly introduced Guardian Spirits.
The gameplay moves into an open-world format featuring multiple regions, maze-like caves containing ore and gems, and remote islands that can be reached after finding nautical charts. The social systems return with 10 romanceable characters, divided equally into five bachelors and five bachelorettes.
To assist with traversing the large landscape, the game implements an animal companion system where different animals offer specific environmental abilities, such as leaping across terrain or breaking down barriers like fallen trees and rocks. Players themselves also receive updated traversal options, allowing them to jump, climb ladders, and scale vines. Due to the size of the world map, a dedicated campsite system lets players rest to recover stamina, cook meals, and trade with traveling merchants who sell exclusive items. Finally, players can locate glowing Power Statues to tackle mini-challenges and puzzles. Completing these tasks frees dormant Power Wisps to earn Power Wisp Fruits, which can later be traded at the Forest Goddess Statue to increase the player’s total stamina and unlock new abilities.
