Dinosaur Polo Club, the New Zealand-based studio behind Mini Metro and Mini Motorways, has launched a new experimental project titled RTFM (Read The F*cking Manual). Released on 1 April 2026 under the alternative name DPC Labs, the title is a bite-sized co-op puzzle game developed during a week-long internal game jam.
Set within the fictional corporation Harmonic Inc, RTFM places two players in a high-stress environment where they must process mysterious data to avoid a decoherence meltdown. The gameplay is inspired by social sleuthing titles like Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes and draws thematic influence from sci-fi media such as The X-Files, Portal, Control, and various creepypastas.
The experience requires one player to take the role of the Troubleshooter, who must consult a user manual, while the other acts as the Terminal Operator. Communication and trust are central to the mechanics, as players must relay information to solve on-screen puzzles. Depending on how the two players cooperate or deceive one another, the game features three different possible endings.
RTFM was created by a core team of seven people and focuses on replayable, social-driven gameplay without the pressure of traditional failstates. Instead, the game seeks to emphasize the narrative tension of corporate oversight and the potential erosion of trust between partners.
RTFM is currently available as a free download for both PC and Mac via itch.io.
