Pony Canyon has released the first key visual and trailer for the upcoming anime adaptation of Hanaori-san Still Wants to Fight in the Next Life. The series is scheduled to begin its worldwide streaming broadcast in July 2026, bringing Hekiru Hikawa’s manga series from Kodansha’s Morning Two to the screen.
Hanaori-san Still Wants to Fight in the Next Life follows Ryusei Narukami, a man living as a shut-in NEET who formerly reigned as a Demon King in another world. His life changes after a reunion with Meteor Hanaori, the Hero who once defeated him and has since been reincarnated as an ordinary high school student. This encounter leads Ryusei to reenter the workforce as a teacher at Mikenshi Girls’ High School, which happens to be the same institution Meteor attends.
The newly unveiled key visual depicts Ryusei and Meteor standing back-to-back under a clear blue sky with their school in the background. The accompanying trailer seeks to provide a look at the comedic tone of the series and the shifting dynamic between the former enemies as they navigate their new lives.
A significant number of additional cast members were confirmed alongside the trailer. The production features Seena Hoshiki as Mako Satsuki, Hitomi Ueda as Marika Nagamori, Sora Tokui as Mana Kuraishi, and Nene Hieda as Nemuto Takigawa. The cast also includes Rie Takahashi as Ayahime Takanashi, Hiromi Igarashi as Eriko Asahina, Ayasa Ito as Moe Narukami, and Yoko Hikasa as Sakura Rokudo. They join the previously announced leads, Jun Fukuyama and Akira Sekine, who voice Ryusei and Meteor respectively.
The project is being animated by LIDENFILMS under the direction of Hideyo Yamamoto. The creative team includes Yukie Sugawara handling series composition, Yosuke Okuda as the character designer, and Naoka Ayat serving as the art director.
