HoYoverse has confirmed that the next major update for Genshin Impact, titled Version Luna VI “Song of the Welkin Moon: Rondo – Augured Homecoming,” is scheduled for release on 8 April 2026. This expansion focuses on the northern territories of Mondstadt, the first major update to the starting nation… since launch, and introduces a new playable 5-star character to the roster.
The map expansion allows players to travel beyond the current borders of Mondstadt to explore flower fields and the trade hub of Dornman Port. High above the clouds of these lands sits the Temple of Space, a floating structure containing fragments created by Asmoday, the sovereign of sky and space. This temple is comprised of various realms inspired by civilizations such as Liyue and Sumeru. A new environmental mechanic will allow players to manipulate these spaces to uncover hidden paths and learn more about the Ruler of Space. Additionally, a new boss known as Watcher: Fallen Vigil will be found in the wilderness near Dornman Port.
Linnea, a fae naturalist from Snezhnaya and advisor to the Adventurers’ Guild, joins the game as a 5-star Geo Bow wielder. Her combat abilities are designed to support Lunar-Crystallize reactions, specifically by converting Hydro-Crystallize reactions into the Lunar variant. By summoning her companion Lumi, she can increase reaction damage and decrease the Geo Resistance of opponents. Her Elemental Skill offers a choice between continuous off-field Geo damage or a single high-damage hit, while her Elemental Burst provides healing for the entire party. In the open world, Linnea earns badges for her backpack when players discover rare animals or other natural findings.
The update features several Event Wish phases. The first phase marks the debut of Linnea alongside a return for Chasca. The second phase will focus on Nefer and Lauma. For the first time, a Chronicled Wish featuring characters from the Fontaine region will also be available.
In terms of seasonal events, players will travel to Nod-Krai for a trade show hosted by the Voynich Guild. The event involves resolving merchant conflicts and participating in various activities, including a cooperative aerial bombardment challenge and a color-coded shooter mini-game. Successful completion of these challenges allows players to recruit the character Jahoda at no cost.
Finally, the Miliastra Wonderland system is set to receive a quality-of-life update. This includes an increase to the player lobby capacity and the introduction of a special effect editor. The update also enhances skill customisation and user interface assets to assist players in creating and editing their own gameplay experiences.
