Blizzard Entertainment has confirmed that BlizzCon 2026 will offer numerous opportunities in the eSports space this year. The event is scheduled to take place at the Anaheim Convention Center from 12 September 2026 to 13 September 2026, featuring a variety of tournaments with a combined prize pool exceeding $1.2 million USD.

A primary addition to the schedule this year is the Blizzard Classic Cup. This new, cross-title team competition is designed to highlight the legacy of the studio’s older competitive titles. The tournament will span across Heroes of the Storm, StarCraft: Remastered, StarCraft II, and Warcraft III: Reforged. Industry personalities Nick “Tasteless” Plott and Dan “Artosis” Stemkoski have been named as the team captains for the event. The Classic Cup will operate under a points-based format with $100,000 USD at stake, concluding with a champion being crowned on the main stage.

World of Warcraft will also have a major presence through the conclusion of its yearlong competitive seasons. Both the Arena World Championship (AWC) and the Mythic Dungeon International (MDI) will hold their finals at the convention. The AWC will see the return of the China region alongside cross-region playoffs, while the MDI will focus on head-to-head speedrunning. These World of Warcraft events feature a total prize pool of $600,000 USD.

The 2026 event also marks the tenth anniversary of Overwatch esports. To celebrate, the Overwatch World Cup returns to the BlizzCon stage, following global qualifiers which will narrow the field down to 30 international teams.

Rounding out the competitive offerings is the Hearthstone Masters Tour. The top players from the 2026 season will advance to the Masters Tour Championships held live at the event. These competitors will be vying for a share of a $500,000 USD total prize pool.
