Nippon Ichi Software America has announced that their 2D side-scrolling adventure title, The Liar Princess and The Blind Prince, is making the move to the PC platform. The game is scheduled to release on Steam on 11 March 2026.
Originally released globally for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on 12 February 2019, the game features a distinct hand-drawn visual style resembling a storybook. The narrative focuses on two lonely characters brought together by a tragic accident. Players control a wolf who, after accidentally blinding a prince, disguises herself as a princess to guide him through a perilous forest. Their goal is to locate a witch who has the ability to restore the prince’s sight.
The core gameplay loop revolves around the wolf’s ability to transform. Players must switch between the wolf and princess forms to progress through the environment. The wolf form provides the brute strength necessary to fight off hostile creatures and clear physical obstacles, while the princess form is required to hold the prince’s hand, guide him safely around traps, and solve puzzles that require a delicate touch.
Throughout the forest, players can also discover pages from a “forgotten tale.” By collecting petals scattered across the levels, users can unlock memory fragments that provide further context to the backstory of the wolf and the prince.
