Producers Paul Dainty, TEG Dainty, Ken Davenport, and Bob Gaudio have confirmed the full casting lineup for the upcoming Australian premiere of A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical. The production is scheduled to open exclusively in Melbourne at the Princess Theatre, with previews commencing on 5 August 2026. Due to high demand during the initial sales period, the season has already been extended by two weeks and is now booking through to 11 October 2026.
A Beautiful Noise explores the life of the American rock icon, charting his journey from Brooklyn to international stardom. Created in collaboration with Neil Diamond, the musical features a catalogue of his well-known songs, including “Sweet Caroline”, “Cracklin’ Rosie”, and “Forever in Blue Jeans”.
Leading the company is Broadway actor Will Swenson, who will reprise his role as “Neil Diamond – Then” for Australian audiences. He is joined by an extensive roster of local talent, including Terence Crawford in the role of “Neil Diamond – Now” and Ashleigh Rubenach as Marcia Murphey. Rounding out the principal cast are Monica Sayers as the Doctor, Alana Tranter as Jaye Posner, Tim Wright as Fred Weintraub and Tommy O’Rourke, and Hannah Fredericksen as Ellie Greenwich and Rose Diamond.
The production has also announced its standbys and ensemble members. Rob Mallett will serve as the standby for “Neil Diamond – Then,” while Mark Owen Taylor will standby for “Neil Diamond – Now” in addition to covering the roles of Fred Weintraub, Tommy O’Rourke, Bert Berns, and Kieve Diamond. The ensemble features Katrina Bickerton, Cameron Davey, Paul Leandre Escorrido, Matt Hourigan, Alana Iannace, Jerome Javier, Joshua Kobeck, Etuate Lutui, Anna Mallows, Jordan Malone, James Maxfield, Isabella Roberts, Sophie Tzioumis, Emma Wilby, and Erica Wild.
