In June 2026, Beetlejuice the Musical is set to having its Brisbane premiere at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre’s (QPAC) Lyric Theatre, following the Australian premiere in Melbourne last year. But the question is.. which state will say Beetlejuice three times and summon him to their state next? Michael Cassel Group, Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures, and Langley Park Productions have officially announced that Beetlejuice The Musical is set to premiere in Western Australia. The production will begin its run at Crown Theatre Perth on 16 August 2026.
Based on the 1988 Tim Burton film, the musical features an original score by Australian composer Eddie Perfect. The narrative centres on Lydia Deetz, a teenager fascinated by death, who encounters a recently deceased couple haunting her new home. In an attempt to remove her parents from the house, she enlists the help of Beetlejuice, a degenerate demon, leading to a series of chaotic events involving exorcisms and the Netherworld.
Broadway actor Andy Karl will reprise the titular role of Beetlejuice for the Australian tour, taking over from Eddie Perfect who started with the role in Melbourne. Other cast members include Karis Oka as Lydia Beetz, Elize McCann as Barbara Maitland, Rob Johnson as Adam Maitland, Erin Clare as Delia Deetz and Tom Wren as Charles Deetz.
Tickets for the Perth season will go on sale in the current months. Fans can currently sign up for a waitlist at the official website to receive early access. Want to know more how this Australian production fares? Check out my review of the premiere Melbourne season for more deetz.
