Spike Chunsoft has confirmed that total worldwide shipments for the Danganronpa franchise have now exceeded 10 million units. This sales milestone was recorded as of 10 December 2025 and accounts for figures across the five current titles in the series.
This announcement follows the franchise’s 15th anniversary celebrations, which took place in November. The series originally debuted in Japan on 25 November 2010 with the release of Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc for the PlayStation Portable – eventually making it over to the west on the PlayStation Vita (and later on other platforms) as Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc.
The latest installment, titled Danganronpa 2×2, is currently scheduled for release in 2026. This is set to bring the second chapter in the series to current generation platforms including the Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC – both with a revamped version of the original Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair arc, and a completely brand-new scenario.
