Shueisha Games and Kairosoft have collaborated to announce KochiKame: Ryo-san’s Billion-yen Beat. Revealed during Jump Festa 2026, this new title is a pixel art simulation game designed to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the manga series, Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kōen-mae Hashutsujo.
The gameplay adopts the simulation management style associated with developer Kairosoft. Players take on the role of the protagonist, Officer Ryotsu Kankichi, with the objective of amassing a billion-yen fortune. To achieve this, players must engage in various schemes to revitalize a struggling local shopping district.
Progression involves earning initial funds through activities such as gambling and part-time jobs, which are then used to construct profitable facilities within the district. A core mechanic involves balancing these business ventures while evading the Chief, who will attempt to catch the player neglecting their police duties to manage the district.
In terms of content, the game features a roster of over 200 characters, including the main police box crew and other figures from the original works. The narrative will integrate storylines and classic episodes from the manga’s history, presented through story events and mini-games that unlock as the district expands.
KochiKame: Ryo-san’s Billion-yen Beat is confirmed for release on the Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC via Steam, iOS, and Android devices. It will support Japanese, English, and Traditional Chinese language options. However, a specific release date has not yet been determined.
