Bandai Namco Entertainment has officially released The Forsaken Hollows, a new downloadable content expansion for the multiplayer co-op survival action title, Elden Ring Nightreign. Developed by FromSoftware, Inc., this update is available as of today, 4 December 2025, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
The expansion increases the roster of playable Nightfarers, introducing two new archetypes: the Scholar and the Undertaker. The Scholar is pitched as a trained academic who specialises in spellcasting and arcane knowledge. This archetype utilises observation to gain advantages on the battlefield. On the other hand, the Undertaker is a character driven by strength and faith stats. Mandated by her monastery to slay the Nightlord, she acts as a gatekeeper to the afterlife and uses physical power to defeat opponents.
In terms of environmental content, The Forsaken Hollows adds new areas and threats to the Limveld region. The update includes two new bosses that players will encounter at the dawn of the third in-game day. Additionally, a new feature called ‘Shifting Earth’ has been implemented. This mechanic changes the layout of the map when certain conditions are met, designed to alter the navigation experience for players.
Access to the new content depends on the edition of the game owned. PC players on Steam who own the Deluxe, Seekers, or Collector’s editions will receive The Forsaken Hollows automatically. Players on console platforms who own these special editions are required to manually download the DLC from their console’s store. Owners of the Standard Edition on any platform can purchase the DLC separately.
