Meridiem has announced that Dinopunk: The Cacops Adventure is now available digitally on Steam. Developed by The Dude Games, the 2D platformer seeks to mix both retro and modern aesthetics with a bright, lighthearted tone, and stars Cacops, an amphibian dinosaur on a quest to recover his stolen egg while battling ninjas, varied enemies and colossal bosses.
Set in a pixelated world that nods to the 80s and 90s, the game pays homage to classics such as Wonder Boy, Alex Kidd and Contra. The aim is to capture the feel of the golden age of side scrollers while updating visuals and gameplay for contemporary players. Stages and characters draw from pop culture touchstones, seeking to blend throwback appeal with new ideas.
