HoYoverse has officially confirmed that Petit Planet, its upcoming cosmic life sim, will begin a closed beta titled the Coziness Test on 7 November 2025. The test will run on PC and iOS, with sign ups still available (at least for now) via a survey on the official website.
Positioned as HoYoverse’s take on the cozy life sim genre, Petit Planet places players in charge of nurturing a planet of their own while forming connections with other worlds scattered across the stars. Your home world becomes a collaborative space as fuzzy Neighbors link their Planettes to it, and as relationships strengthen the planet’s vitality known as Luca shapes the terrain into new landscapes.
Day to day play focuses on relaxed activities and discovery. Players can cultivate crops for unexpected harvests under the night sky, fish in clear waters, comb beaches for rare finds, and experiment with ingredients to unlock new recipes. Invited Neighbors each arrive with personal stories and ambitions, contributing to a sense of growth as the planet evolves. When setting out on Starsea Voyages to unexplored Islets, those Neighbors can join as travel companions.
While many of HoYoverse’s games have launched with some degree of online multiplayer functionality, compared to MMORPGs for example, the mechanics have been pretty basic. Petit Planet also seeks to introduce social and multiplayer elements designed to make the wider galaxy feel lived in. During the Coziness Test, players can gather at the Galactic Bazaar, a social hub for chatting over coffee and joining cooperative rhythm mini games where groups sync dance moves on a shared stage.
