EastAsiaSoft has confirmed that Hakuoki SSL ~Sweet School Life~ will launch on Nintendo Switch on February 12, 2026, arriving just ahead of Valentine’s Day. This standalone spin-off marks the first time the title will be available with English text. Pre-orders for physical editions are live via Playasia, with remaining Limited Editions reported to be nearly sold out.
Unlike the mainline entries set in Edo period Japan, Hakuoki SSL reframes series heroine Chizuru Yukimura and the Shinsengumi as students and staff at a modern Japanese school. The release targets a lighter, slice-of-life tone that follows festivals, exams and campus mischief, while maintaining multiple romance routes and character endings.
Physical copies for Nintendo Switch are planned to ship in the same week as the digital launch. The Limited Edition run is capped at 2,000 units and includes the game, a printed manual, soundtrack CD, art book, mini case, Joy-Con sticker set, acrylic character standees and a numbered certificate, all housed in a collector’s box.
