Opera Australia will mark the upcoming Opera House season of RENT with a one day $25 rush offer. From 9.00 am to 7.00 pm on Thursday 4 September, five hundred tickets priced at 25 dollars will be sold in person only at the Sydney Opera House main Box Office on Level 1. Queuing opens on the Opera House steps from 8.00 am, and the cast will give a short performance just before sales begin at 9.00 am. Tickets are limited to two per person and will be allocated across a range of performances in the season.
The promotion nods to RENT’s anthem Seasons of Love and its 525,600 minutes by running for 600 minutes or until sold out. Tickets are available for select Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday evening performances between 30 September and 19 October 2025. Seating and show allocation is at the discretion of the box office. However in turn, booking fees do not apply. Tickets bought at this price are non transferable, non refundable and cannot be exchanged.
Set in New York’s East Village in the early 1990s, RENT follows a group of young artists and friends as they navigate love, loss and ambition. The production features songs including Seasons of Love, Take Me or Leave Me and La Vie Bohème. The cast includes Henry Rollo as Mark, Harry Targett as Roger, Kristin Paulse as Mimi, Calista Nelmes as Maureen, Imani Williams as Joanne, Googoorewon Knox as Collins, Jesse Dutlow as Angel and Tana Laga’aia as Benny, with ensemble members Anna Francesca Armenia, Kobe Brown, Sam Harmon, Lawrence Hawkins, Carmel Rodrigues, Chad Rosete, Eliza Soriano, Stacey Thomsett, Bree Tipoki and Theodore Williams.
