The producers of Shirley Valentine have added an extra matinee of the production’s Sydney Theatre Royal upcoming limited Sydney season, set to run from 22-26 October 2025. This extra performance sits at the tail-end of the season, on Sunday 26 October 2025, and comes just before heading to Brisbane’s Twelfth Night Theatre from 29 October to 8 November.
The one-woman comedy stars Natalie Bassingthwaighte in the titular role, seeking to draw upon Willy Russell’s blend of heart and humour.
Shirley Valentine follows a middle-aged Liverpool housewife who talks to her kitchen wall, daydreams of a life beyond routine, and takes a spontaneous trip to Greece that forces a choice between old habits and a renewed sense of self.
