Sydney audiences will have multiple chances to time travel before opening night, with producers confirming three themed fan events tied to Back to the Future: The Musical. The one-off nights are set for Friday 26 September, Tuesday 30 September and Wednesday 1 October, giving fans a behind the scenes insights and perhaps collectible keepsake.
The run-up begins on Friday 26 September with Smooth FM’s 80s Preview Party. Attendees are invited to channel Marty, Doc or any era-appropriate icon with denim, puffer vests or prom finery encouraged, though dressing up remains optional. There will be exclusive content and social features highlighting best dressed fans throughout the evening.
On Tuesday 30 September, the production welcomes original creator, writer and producer Bob Gale to the audience for a performance followed by a post show Q&A hosted by Roger Bart. Those already holding tickets are being contacted with invitations to join the dress up fun or send in questions ahead of time.
The pre opening trio wraps on Wednesday 1 October with an exclusive merchandise opportunity. Every ticketholder that night will receive a one-off poster commemorating the Australian premiere. A limited number of posters will be signed by Bob Gale and handed out in the theatre foyer to the first 100 arrivals.
Tickets are on sale now for performances through 25 January 2026, including the three fan event dates.
