Global publisher WEMADE has confirmed that the first public hands-on for its upcoming tactical shooter Black Vultures: Prey of Greed will launch as a Steam playtest on Friday 25 July. Access will be limited to players in North and South America, with interested participants able to request entry through the title’s Steam page. Invitations and download instructions will be issued by email, and extra keys will surface through community giveaways on the official Discord server.
Developed in-house at THISMEANSWAR, WEMADE’s newest studio, Black Vultures drops rival squads into a fractured warzone where every bullet and every backpack slot counts. The July session builds on feedback gathered during an April Focus Group Test, prompting revisions to weapon balance, movement, and overall game feel.
Black Vultures: Prey of Greed pits three independent squads against one another in every match, creating a battlefield where fleeting alliances and sudden betrayals keep tactics fluid. Each team draws from a shared pool of Life Tickets, and once that stock is gone fallen operatives stay down, so every firefight becomes a high-stakes gamble. Gear recovered on the ground is stored in a collective squad vault and only awarded after a successful extraction, making coordination just as crucial as aim. The combination of three-squad engagements, finite respawns and risk-reward looting ensures that every decision, from the first bullet to the final dash for safety, carries genuine weight.
WEMADE stresses that the July test is the first step in a broader community-led development plan. Players are encouraged to report bugs, critique balance, and pitch new ideas via the Steam Community Hub and Discord. The studio says post-playtest data will directly steer feature priorities as Black Vultures moves toward a wider release.
