Build A Rocket Boy, in partnership with IOI Partners, has officially launched MindsEye, the action-adventure title from game director Leslie Benzies. The game is now available globally on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, with a final launch trailer (left) also unveiled to mark the occasion.
Set in the desert metropolis of Redrock – a city under the grip of surveillance and automation – MindsEye places players in the role of Jacob Diaz, an ex-soldier burdened by fractured memories. As Diaz delves deeper into his past, players navigate a world dominated by rogue AI and militarised technology, with the city’s order hanging by a thread.
Mindseye promises a cinematic single-player campaign, combining fast-paced third-person combat and large-scale action set pieces. Gameplay spans ground, air, and vehicular combat, enhanced by the support of the DC2 drone – an AI-powered tactical companion tethered to Diaz’s MindsEye implant.
In addition to its narrative-driven gameplay, the title is built around Build A Rocket Boy’s proprietary Game Creation System, offering players tools to engage creatively with the game world. PC users, in particular, will have access to Build.MindsEye – a version of the system that allows for in-game development, publishing, and modification of user-created content.
Leslie Benzies, founder of Build A Rocket Boy, described the long-term ambition behind the project:
With MindsEye, we wanted to create something original, something that pushes boundaries, feels familiar, and is genuinely fun to play and rewarding to create. It’s been nearly a decade of collaboration across design, tech, narrative, and art. This world wasn’t just built for players; it was built with the idea that they’d eventually take it further.
New content including missions, races, and challenges will be added on a monthly basis. Speaking further on the player-driven design of the game, Benzies added:
This is about access. About breaking down the walls between studio and player. The Game Creation System puts the power of development in players’ hands. MindsEye is designed to grow, adapt, and inspire; it’s not just a game, it’s the future of interactive entertainment.
