Marisa of Liartop Mountain, the digital tabletop RPG from developer Unknown X and inspired by the Touhou Project, will offer players an expanded experience with its updated demo arriving during Steam Next Fest on 6 June 2025.
The game follows shrine maiden Reimu as she searches for the missing Marisa, only to find herself drawn into a living storybook. Players shape Reimu’s journey through branching choices and dice rolls, allowing every decision to affect the unfolding adventure.
The updated demo introduces a new layer of interaction, as four familiar faces from Scarlet Devil Mansion – Remilia, Sakuya, Patchouli, and Flandre – join Reimu’s quest. Their lively commentary and guidance influence both the narrative and Reimu’s abilities, with different advice offering unique opportunities to level up and earn special rewards. Following their lead can shape Reimu’s progression in four distinct directions and unlock new dice to customise her skills.
Players will explore a range of colourful, unconventional locations, from eccentric libraries to surreal circuses, navigating a story shaped by combat, evasion, and multiple possible endings. With its blend of narrative choices and tabletop mechanics, Marisa of Liartop Mountain invites fans to experience a unique take on the Touhou universe.
