Reside in Sydney and still haven’t had the chance to see the first leg of the new Australian production of the classic, Annie the Musical? The Sydney season at the Capitol Theatre has just four weeks remaining, with the final performance on 21 June 2025, before transferring to the Princess Theatre in Melbourne from 10 July.
The cast features Anthony Warlow in the role of Oliver “Daddy” Warbucks, while Debora Krizak plays Miss Hannigan. Other principal cast members include Mackenzie Dunn as Lily St. Regis, Keanu Gonzalez as “Rooster” Hannigan, and Amanda Lea LaVergne as Grace Farrell. Greg Page, best known as the original Yellow Wiggle, appears as President Franklin D. Roosevelt in his musical theatre debut.
Something that you will not be able to see in any other state are the children performing in the leading role of Annie, as well as her orphan friends. In the titular role are four youth: Beatrix Alder, Matilda Casey, Dakota Chanel and Stephanie McNamara. Supporting young performers include Kiki Kersten, Francesca Kong, Matilda Teiotu, Camille Nko’o, Bianca Papa, Olivia Scott, Elle Boesen, Yasha Glaperin, Skylah McMah, Chloe Delle-Vedove, Nina Gallas, Ava Palfreyman, Pearl Mason, Cailin Scully, Victoria Togias, Ellie Lang, Arianna Lorusso, Willow Wilson, Yeshi Jehru, Zoe Reeves, Skye Spiden and Aleia Taliacos.
This week also marks the final opportunity for audiences to attend the “Behind the Red Curtain” experience, available on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. From 6:00pm, ticket holders can enter the theatre early to watch cast warm-ups and take photos with principal cast members ahead of the 7:00pm performance.
