Bureau 81’s debut title The Operator has officially launched on Nintendo Switch, almost a year after the game’s original PC launch via Steam. The game is available priced at $13.99 / €13,99 / £12.59 or local equivalent.
The Operator is a conspiracy-themed narrative adventure inspired by The X-Files, placing players in the role of an Operator within a shadowy government agency known as the FDI. Tasked with tracking down a notorious cybercriminal known as HAL, players must analyse case files sent by field agents and investigate a range of incidents including murders, cyber attacks, and disappearances.
Gameplay centres on the use of a variety of investigative tools such as a Video and Photo Analyzer, ChemScan, Notepad, Citizen and Vehicle Databases, and a functional computer interface. By cross-referencing information and uncovering hidden links, players gradually piece together the wider conspiracy.
