The manga adaptation of From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman is now available in English on WEBTOON. Adapted from the light novel of the same name, the series has been reformatted for WEBTOON’s vertical scroll format and is presented in full colour.
The story follows Beryl Gardenant, a middle-aged swordsman whose only achievement has been running a modest dojo in the countryside. When his former student Allucia returns as a high-ranking commander, Beryl learns that many of his past pupils have become elite warriors. Pressured by Allucia to train the kingdom’s strongest knights, Beryl must confront his own potential and whether he still has room to grow.
Originally written by Shigeru Sagazaki with illustrations by Tetsuhiro Nabeshima, the story was later adapted into a manga by Kazuki Sato and inspired an anime series that premiered on Prime Video in April 2025.
