Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero Now Available on PC via Steam

Following on from the PlayStation and Nintendo releases earlier this year, Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero is now available on Steam, bringing its distinctive strategy RPG gameplay to PC players.

Published once again by Nippon Ichi Software America (NIS America), the Steam version supports resolutions up to 4K, multiple aspect ratios including ultrawide, and mouse and keyboard controls. It also offers arbitrary resolution options, making it adaptable to various display setups.

Until 7 May, those who purchase the game on Steam will receive the “Putty Outfit: Minty” as a launch bonus. Players who purchase the Deluxe Edition during this period will receive the outfit along with the official soundtrack. These items will later become part of the Ultimate Edition, available after the promotional window closes.

Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero is known for its gridless, free-movement battle system. Players can summon Phantom allies by Revealing their souls to objects on the map, using special Gadgets for powerful attacks, and accessing unique transformations and abilities through a mechanic called Confriend. If you were like me and played the original Phantom Brave decades ago, this is a deserving, long-awaited sequel! You can read my full review of the game for more of my thoughts.
